Membership in ASC X9 provides participants with many benefits. Among the leading benefit X9 members gain from top membership levels is the primary approval of a standards project to go forward, the ability to manage the development and ultimately to hold approval of all standards. As a participant in Category A (Board), B – category or, if qualified, C category, members attain the ability to vote on and permit passage of a proposed standard under development through either a specific subcommittee (a Category B & C level ) or all subcommittees (Category A/consensus body/ Board Level) under X9.
